Why this exists
Hermes is an open-source AI agent that lives on your own computer and gets things done: search, compare, write code, watch your servers, remember what you agreed on. You can talk to it from any messenger, and that works fine.
Lar is for when you want that conversation to feel as easy as talking to someone in the room. Open — and speak. A long answer reads in full, a table looks like a table, voice is voice, and the agent's “may I?” takes one tap. Whatever got in the way is simply gone.

Driving — speak. On the train — type. It's the same conversation: switch from voice to text and back, nothing is lost, no starting over.
Hand it off and put the phone away
“Compare these three and send me a table.” Lock the screen, get on with your day. When it's done, a push arrives. No sitting there watching a spinner.
Approvals at your fingertips
When Hermes asks permission for a risky command — deleting files, restarting a service — in Lar it's a card with three buttons: “Allow once / Always / Deny.” The push arrives even with the app closed. One tap, and back to what you were doing.
Pick up from any screen
Discussed something from your laptop in the morning, open Lar in the evening — the agent remembers where you left off. Same agent, same memory; Lar is just one more window to it, always in your pocket.
Fast, with nothing to configure
At home, Lar finds your server directly over the local network — replies in milliseconds, text streaming as if typed under your fingers. Step outside, and it measures the ping and picks the relay closest to your Hermes on its own. Nothing to switch by hand.
Easy about your data
Lar connects to your Hermes — at home, on a VPS, wherever. The conversation is encrypted between your phone and your machine. Discuss anything without wondering where it ends up.
Connected in a minute
No sign-up, no password, no “verify your number.” Your agent shows a QR code; you scan it. A second later it says hello from your phone.
Getting started
- Install Hermes Agent on your computer and enable the Lar plugin. It's open source and free.
- In any chat with your agent, tell it: “connect my phone.” It shows a QR code.
- Open Lar, point the camera. A second later it says hello — from your phone this time.
Lar is a client. It doesn't think — your Hermes does. That's why there are no subscriptions or limits: the app just makes what you already have comfortable to use. And there's more ahead: Lar will be able to suggest how to make your agent stronger — memory, search, speed.
